Lightforce has a long-standing partnership with THEON INTERNATIONAL, a leading developer and manufacturer of customizable night vision and thermal imaging systems for military and security applications in Europe with a global footprint, that now includes Australia.

Theon’s main product lines are: Night Vision Monoculars and Binoculars, Family of Night Vision Sights, Clip-on Night Sights, Night Driver’s Viewers, Digital day and night Cameras and upgrade kits for armoured vehicles, Thermal Stand-alone and Clip-on uncooled Sights, Vehicle and Platform based thermal imaging systems. As part of the Lightforce group sovereign capability development, Lightforce and Theon have developed a plan for the manufacturing, assembly, testing and through life support and maintenance of Theon products to be undertaken within the Lightforce facility in Adelaide.

ARGUS

ARGUS is a family of innovative, full MIL-SPEC, image intensified multi-purpose monoculars systems that can be operated as hand-held, head-helmet or weapon-mounted. Lightweight, yet of robust construction, with superior optical characteristics and performance.

This groundbreaking system allows the individual soldier to perform observation, short range (surveillance, weapon aiming, map reading and medical aid operations during all night conditions).

DAMΩN

In Greek mythology, the legend of DAMΩN symbolizes trust and loyalty in a true friendship. THEON’S DAMΩN family of Clip-On Night Vision Devices (CNVDs) was developed to provide soldiers with an unrivalled night vision and target acquisition capability. The clip-on sights are designed for use in tandem with medium or long-range day sights to provide targeting at night, while maintaining the day optic’s ballistic zeroing.

DAMΩN attaches quickly and simply to picatinny rails. No removal of the day sight or any bore sighting is required, thus eye relief shooting position and user’s muscle memory remain the same. DAMΩN is manufactured of aircraft-grade aluminium and is fully military specified and tested. An additional picatinny rail enables installation of auxiliary equipment such as an IR illuminator etc. The DAMΩN MR is suitable for short-range rifles, while the LR is more suited for Sniper Rifles and Machine guns.

NYX

NYX

NYX is the Greek goddess of the night, gives birth to Aether (Brightness) and Hemera (day). NYX is a cutting edge, full MIL-SPEC, image intensified, dual tube binocular that is able to be operated helmet-mounted, head-mounted or hand-held. It offers better depth perception than single tube systems making it easier to judge distances and relative motion so the ability to perform tasks such as driving is greatly improved. NYX is the ideal choice for special operations forces.

THERMIS

The THERMÍS family of uncooled Thermal Clip-on Sights (TCS) was developed to provide soldiers with an unrivalled day/night advantage in detecting, observing and engaging hostile targets, independent of darkness and common obscurants used for visual concealment. The clip-on sights are designed for use in tandem with medium or long-range day sights to provide targeting at night, while maintaining the day optic's ballistic zeroing.
The THERMÍS MR is suitable for either short-range rifles or medium machine, while the LR / ELR clip-on models for Sniper Rifles, and Heavy Machine guns.

MIKRON-D

MIKRON-D is a cutting edge, full MIL-SPEC, image intensified, dual tube binocular that is able to be operated helmet-mounted, head-mounted or hand-held similar to the NYX however in a smaller profile with the same high performance.

For momentary configuration changes, the user can flip away each monocular separately. With both monocular flipped away and flipped up, the system stows along the contour of the helmet thus reducing its silhouette and neck strain, minimizing the danger of system damage.

MIKRON-D features self-contained single AA battery power and can be also operated via a remote battery pack at the rear of the helmet for increased operational life.

THEON’S THERMIS Mk2 family of sights incorporate the latest IR sensor, electronics and optical technologies to deliver world leading performance and reliability. They generate superior IR imagery, ensuring target recognition at the maximum possible range. THERMIS Mk2 models are multipurpose and can be used either as a Clip-on or Stand-Alone Sights on any weapon platform up to 0.50" calibre for targeting and observation or as a Handheld Thermal Imager. THERMIS Mk2 family of sights incorporate the latest IR sensor, electronics and optical technologies to deliver world leading performance and reliability with a lowered size, weight and power profile compared to Thermis.
